Chrysocolla Malachite Polished Specimens Congo: a cut and polished piece in the Namaste Fine Minerals collection.
The listing names Congo as its locality.
Azurite & Malachite is copper carbonates: azurite Cu₃(CO₃)₂(OH)₂ and malachite Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂, monoclinic, Mohs 3.5 to 4. The two often form together; blue azurite slowly alters to green malachite. Soft, so dust them rather than washing. All azurite & malachite.
Natural specimens are one of a kind; the photo shows the type of piece, so ask us if you want a closer look before buying.
Ships from New York City, or see and collect it inside Namaste Bookshop, 2 West 14th Street. Questions: call 212-645-0141.
